Merbaum & Becker, PC is pleased to announce that it now has extensive experience representing consumers in arbitration, mediation, and litigation on matters related to the Georgia Lemon Law thanks to the addition of Tashia Zeigler to the legal team. Tashia is responsible for writing the Lemon Law Rules that are enforced by the Georgia Department of Law.

The Georgia Lemon Law’s goal is to protect the interests of individuals or small businesses who have bought or leased new cars, trucks, or motor homes that are defective. A new vehicle’s defect can be anything from leaky windows to severe engine malfunctions. Manufacturers are required to try and repair a new vehicle if the owner or lessee notifies it within the first 2 years or 24,000 miles of operation (whichever occurs first). If the manufacturer is unable to repair the vehicle’s defect, then it must buy back the vehicle or replace it at the owner’s option.
